Edward William Stutenroth

My home page now includes one of my favorite photos of a 19th century bandsman. I like the uniform, mustache, and general attitude of pride and confidence he seems to exude. On top of that, he is holding a Conn 4 in 1 cornet!

While this photo was included on my old website, it was not prominent, and I decided this forgotten musicians image should greet visitors on the home page of my new website. I had not looked at the actual photo in years, but came across it recently and noticed that the back was inscribed "Uncle Ed Stutenroth- (Grandmothers brother)". I decided to do a Google search on his name, and actually found some information about him in the Illinois Digital Newspaper Collection. So I thought I would post his photo, obituary, and a (current) picture of the house he built in Sycamore, Ill in 1885.
